While in Northern Washington we took a day trip to see Mount Baker.\u00a0 We can see it from the coast where we’re staying, jutting up high above the other mountains and hills that we can see from here.<\/p>\n

It’s a beautiful mountain, dense forest filled with moss and ferns and waterways and waterfalls.\u00a0 Then we came out from the heavy forest and were in the midst of several glaciers!\u00a0 This trip was actually more interesting than going through the Glacier National Park, as here we were able to drive right into the glacier area.<\/p>\n

During the ride I composed a haiku, and decided to start composing them as a sideline so you’ll see a new menu entry with this and one more I’ve composed recently.\u00a0 Here’s my first:<\/p>\n

Dark, dense forest,
\nmoss and fern.
\nIt clears –
\nSnow capped mountain
\ntowers above.<\/p>\n
